Walking in Austria

Kitzbuhel is a beautiful town in Austria, famous for skiing in the winter especially, but also an excellent area for walking in the summer months. I believe the best time to go is at the end of june as more ski lifts are open after their yearly maintenance (and also the weather is improving).

The tourist office in the centre of Kitzbuhel offer free organised walks in the area and you just pay for shared taxi cabs if the walk happens to start some distance from the town.

I can personally recommend the hotel Tiefenbrummer situated in the centre of town, it is a traditional Austrian hotel with large rooms and good food.
